About AGID

Godinhela Association - Research and Social Development

For over three decades AGID’s members have been involved, either as partners or co-ordinators, in a wide range of projects – many of them funded under various EU and national programmes. AGID’s work covers a variety of fields – including health, criminal justice, youth work, education and training, social inclusion, social innovation, technology development and policy analysis. We work for different kinds of clients, including government, the private sector, NGOs and community groups. Our members have particular expertise and experience in social inclusion, working to support vulnerable groups, including marginalized youth, NEETs (not in employment, education and training), black and ethnic minority groups, people from an immigrant background and people with disabilities.  AGID has an established track record in developing and applying innovative evaluation and research methods, including action research.  We also specialise in personal, organisational and community development programmes, which typically  include an ‘experiential learning’ element. Our projects often use a ‘design thinking’ approach which aims to promote ‘thinking out of the box’; to encourage clients and other stakeholders to come up with new ways of doing things and to support collaboration, co-creation and empowerment – in particular by giving a voice to the less powerful.
